Switch to QQKit Paper Cat Litter
A LITTER BIT OF ADVICE
I Wish I Had Known About
BEFORE SWITCHING LITTER
Switch gradually. We recommend starting with only one-third of QQKit Paper Litter added to your current litter. Once your cat is more familiar with it, gradually increase the ratio until you have completely transitioned to QQKit Paper Litter.
Location matters! It is better not to change the location of the box until your cat get comfortable with the new litter.
When your cats get familiar with the new litter and are using it, add QQKit Paper Litter gradually into the box.
MY CAT IS NOT USING THE BOX
Rapid changes in the type of litter used can cause cat not using the box. Also, student location change and dirty or smelly box are the common reasons.
Stay with your current litter box at the current location while switching to QQKit Paper Litter. Scoop the litter box more often and refresh the entire litter at least 1-2 times a month.
THE RIGHT LITTER BOX
The litter box should be at least 1.5 times as long as the cat’s body. Deeper boxes help keep the litter in the box, but need to have a lower entry point, especially for older or heavier cats.
Always keep the litter 5-6 cm high.
If you are planning to change a new box for QQKit Paper Litter, change it after your cat is completely comfortable with QQKit Paper Litter.
Place the box in a quiet place that is away from the cat’s food and water dishes. Choose a spot that is easy for the cat to access and one they can’t accidentally get shut out of.
LITTER BOX MAINTENANCE
It’s best to scoop every day. Cats are very clean by nature, and so they prefer a clean litter box. QQKit Paper Litter is quick clumping and easy scooping, so you don’t have to waste time chiseling and scraping the box.
If you use QQKit Paper Litter– yes! It works best if you flush only 1-2 clumps at a time.
QQKit Paper Litter is designed to be low tracking. Adding a mat in front of the box can also help keep litter from being tracked.
SEEKING PROFESSIONAL HELP
Cat behavior problems, including inappropriate urination, are complex issues that sometimes require help from a professional. If you’ve tried several approaches and nothing seems to help, consult your veterinarian or a certified cat behaviorist for help.
